Plan for Western Province (Central and Northern will follow similar plans):
The next 3 years will be spent mostly in Western Province where there are only ten congregations in the region. The actual number may be less. For over ten years the Church Development Team (CDT) had no reliable transport to meet their goals for campaigns and church planting. Brother Lister Mweemba and his team have targeted this area for the past four years.
Specific plan for increasing the number of congregations to at least 25:
- Look for schools that would like to use GBCC student teachers for a period of three months (Student Teaching Practice, May – July, Term 2). Send the students in strategic places which have the best potential for planting new congregations.
- Utilize World Bible School study materials. Enroll as many people as possible in the available courses to prepare ground for additional Bible studies with them.
- Recruit student teachers from our established churches who would graduate from GBCC after three years and then move to the province to teach in the schools where their presence is needed for church planting purposes.
- To facilitate spiritual growth among the few existing congregations the CDT from Namwianga will conduct at least twice a year leadership training and spiritual growth meetings.
- Conduct yearly evangelistic meetings for selected areas of the province.
